Spring is in the air and the garden tools are coming out! Steve and Lisa McBride's homestead is just outside Mobile, up the southern shore. They are enthusiastically reclaiming our food heritage and DIY traditions. Please join us as Steve and Lisa take you through "The Art of Backyard Gardening" through photography, charming and interesting stories, and even some unique homestead treats to taste. The McBride's tap their maples to make syrup; they grow most of their own food, keep goats, chickens, bees and more, while inspiring thousands on their Facebook page to get growing! https://www.facebook.com/groups/633102216796004/
Fishing for Cod
For centuries, fishing for cod has played a vital role in the lives of the peoples of Newfoundland and Labrador. Generations of fishing men, women, and children made use of the land and sea to sustain them and spent their lives “making fish.”
Join us each day for an interpretive guided tour in one of our galleries. From the story of the cod fishery to visiting a current art exhibition to a Family Rainbow Tour, there is something for everyone.
Each tour is approximately 30–40 minutes and is included in the cost of admission. Free for Rooms members.
Get your thinking caps on, settle in with some hot chocolate from the bar and get ready for some Holiday Trivia! Join us for an evening of questions inspired by the holiday season, history, geography, and culture of the province.
