Tour
Taking place on the 70th anniversary of Confederation with Canada, this exhibition gathers close to 100 artworks, images and objects from across The Rooms art gallery, archives and museum collections to ask questions about how histories are told and re-told in Newfoundland & Labrador. Guided by gallery staff you will learn about the art, social and unspoken histories of the province.
In celebration of International Women’s Day this year, The Rooms is bringing back our “Beyond the Trenches” tour on March 7th and March 8th.
Visitors will be brought through our level 2 Royal Newfoundland Regiment Gallery and learn about the contributions made by Newfoundland women at home and overseas during the First World War. Not only were these contributions vital to the war effort but became an integral part of women in Newfoundland winning the right to vote in 1925 – an event which celebrated its 100th anniversary in April of 2025. Join us and hear about their stories, experiences, and the various roles they played as the war carried out from 1914 to 1918.
This tour is approximately 40 minutes and is included in the cost of admission. Free for Rooms members.
