What Carries Us: Newfoundland & Labrador in the Black Atlantic draws on the works of contemporary artists, The Rooms collections and archival sources to deepen understandings of the centuries-long relationship between Newfoundland and Labrador, Africa and the Caribbean through migration, trade, language, culture and food.

Please join artist and curator, Bushra Junaid for a thought-provoking presentation about her curatorial process in developing her new exhibition,What Carries Us: Newfoundland & Labrador in the Black Atlantic. After the presentation, we'll head up to the art gallery for a behind-the-scenes tour of the exhibition as it is being installed. This is an opportunity to discuss the artworks and their historical connections with the curator.
