Going Small: Miniatures Across Time and Cultures

Acting Director of Museums and Galleries (and former avid collector of miniatures), Kate Wolforth, unpacks the allure small things. Drawing on art gallery and museum collections and current exhibitions, the discussion looks at the many reasons makers go small – from tiny carvings made by Dorset people 500-1000 years ago, to Curtis Talwst Santiago’s intricate dioramas built inside jewelry boxes.

Join us each day for an interpretive guided tour in one of our galleries. From the story of the Cod fishery to visiting a current art exhibition to a Family Rainbow tour, there is something for everyone. 

Each tour is approximately 30 – 40 minutes and is included in the cost of admission. Free for Rooms members.
