Artful Mummering: A Panel Discussion on Artistic Expression

Date: Dec 9
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Where: Theatre
Engaging Evening

Mummers have moved from your Nan’s front closet to the art scene! They have become the focus of mixed media, textile, watercolour, wood, tile, Christmas ornaments - you name it, mummers are beautifully featured in so many ways. This year the Mummers Festival is delving into The Art of Mummering in exciting ways!

Join us for a lively discussion with local artists: Janet Peter, Doug Halliday, Dawn Hanlon, and Tracie Boland as we explore their inspiration, and how mummers ignite their creativity.

We will look at their artistic styles, talk about why they decided to feature art in their work, and of course chat about their own mummering experiences. They will also bring along some samples too, so you can have a (socially distanced) look at their finished work.

This free event is offered in partnership with the Mummers Festival.  To attend in person, tickets must be reserved in advance by calling Visitor Services at 757-8090.

There is a limit of 5 tickets per order, if you require more than 5 please contact Visitor Services at 757-8090.

This Engaging Evening will also be presented via Zoom; please visit  mummersfestival.ca/artful-mummering-panel-discussion to register for the online presentation.
