About the Artist
Rober Martínez-Espiñeira is a Spanish singer and guitar player originally from Galicia. He moved to Canada in 2001 and has been living in St. John’s for the past 12 years. While you might have seen him getting all groovy at times as the frontman of “Vuelo Directo”, his solo acoustic performances consist of covers of Spanish and Latin American songwriters (such as Joaquín Sabina, Manu Chao, Antonio Vega, Pablo Milanés, Fito Páez, Luis E. Aute, Enrique Urquijo) and acoustic versions of Spanish pop-rock hits, from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
