In 1808, Admiral Sir John Thomas Duckworth commanded HMS Royal George on a journey spanning thousands of miles. One surviving logbook from that trip follows 6 months of the ship’s voyage. Until recently, the story behind this archival oddity has been a mystery. Join Archivist, Melanie Tucker as she shares discoveries about this Royal Navy ship’s log, some Newfoundland plants, and its connections to a local farming family.
