The Rooms celebrates with The Association for New Canadians on the inaugural Emancipation Day event. The afternoon will include singers, dancers with keynote speaker Bushra Junaid.
The Emancipation Day event celebrates the strength and perseverance of Black communities in Canada and provides an appropriate opportunity to pause and reflect upon the solemn history of anti-black racism and discrimination which has existed in Canada for generations. It is also a celebration of the achievements of Black Canadians and the many contributions that Black Canadians have made and continue to make across all sectors of our society.
