2022 marks 30 years since the cod moratorium was declared. Join us for a day of all things cod including films and activities as we look back on the cod fishery and how it has impacted Newfoundland and Labrador. Included in the cost of admission.

Cod Print Crafting  - Learn printmaking techniques, using cod designs and printing inks to create your own school of swimming fish.

Join Fishing for Success to try your hand at net-knitting, rope weaving and withe making. Bring the youngest ones in the family to colour a fish, make a wish, and add it to the net of fish wishes!
 

2 pm (Level 2 Theatre)

Screening of "Tongue Cutters" film (85 minutes) that was directed by Solveig Melkeraaen. This is a film about youth participating in the tradition of cutting cod tongues to earn money and learn heritage fishery skills in Northern Norway. This film is shown in partnership with Fishing for Success.

Masks are encouraged.

It is the final week to visit exhibitions by Kim Morgan, Sheilagh O’Leary and Jenny Yujia Shi.

Join Curator of Contemporary Art Mireille Eagan and Educator Anne Pickard in the art gallery for a conversation about the curatorial process and the role of artists and arts education today.
