July 10 - 14 is for campers going into grades 1 - 3 in September 2023.

Experience a week full of exploration, creativity, and fun! Activities focus on creative expression through daily themes as campers find inspiration in exhibitions and collections.

Campers will:

  • Explore a variety of materials and media related to drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpting

  • Spend time engaging with objects, reproduction artifacts, and journaling

  • Visit art exhibitions, museum galleries, archives, and behind the scenes vaults

  • Participate in outdoor games and creative movement activities

  • Experience hands-on fun with history, music, and nature

  • Learn art and heritage skills from special guests

CAMP DETAILS:

  • Sessions run Monday – Friday 9 am – 4 pm (drop off between 8:30 am and 9 am and pick up between 4 pm and 4:30 pm)

  • Cost: $225 per week

  • 10% Discount for Rooms Members (Member Number Required)

Refund/Cancellation policy:

Registration may be cancelled up to 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the start of camp for a full refund. Cancellations made or requested after 14 days and at least 7 days prior to the start of the camp will be refunded the amount paid minus a $40 administration fee per child. Cancellations made or requested less than 7 days prior to the start of the camp will be refunded 50% of the total cost. The Rooms reserves the right to cancel camps due to insufficient registration. In the event of this, parents of registrants will be notified as soon as possible and receive a full refund.

Join us for a delightful morning at The Rooms! Bring your little ones to our enchanting Harbour View Room for unguided playtime surrounded by an array of toys and books tailored for infants and toddlers aged 0 to 4.

No prior registration is necessary; simply pay your admission at The Rooms front desk and drop in anytime between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm! Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Caregivers must stay with their children throughout the session.

The Playdate is included in the cost of admission. Free for Rooms Members.

Celebrate Valentines: Pin Pillow Workshop

Special fabric remnants or scraps of velvet and silk have been delicately crafted into small pillows using the humble straight pin. Since at least the 17th century they have marked courtship, documented weddings, and welcomed the birth of new babies.  Bits and bobs of ribbons, beads, sequins were used to adorn these simple cushions.

Join us to create your own special pin pillow, using kits based on historical examples. Choose to commemorate a wedding, anniversary, birthday, or someone you love! We will inspire you with historic patterns from The Rooms collections and crafty examples to elevate your love of making.

The cost of the workshop includes:

  • all materials with printed instructions

  • a short presentation on pin pillow history

  • viewing of examples from The Rooms collections
