July 17 - 21 is for campers going into grades 4 - 6 in September 2023.

Experience a week full of exploration, creativity, and fun! Activities focus on creative expression through daily themes as campers find inspiration in exhibitions and collections. Sold out. To be placed on a waitlist call, 709 757-8090
 

Campers will:

  • Explore a variety of materials and media related to drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpting

  • Spend time engaging with objects, reproduction artifacts, and journaling

  • Visit art exhibitions, museum galleries, archives, and behind the scenes vaults

  • Participate in outdoor games and creative movement activities

  • Experience hands-on fun with history, music, and nature

  • Learn art and heritage skills from special guests

CAMP DETAILS:

  • Sessions run Monday – Friday 9 am – 4 pm (drop off between 8:30 am and 9 am and pick up between 4 pm and 4:30 pm)

  • Cost: $225 per week

  • 10% Discount for Rooms Members (Member Number Required)

August 7 – 11 (Grades 1 – 3)
August 14 – 18 (Grades 4 - 6)
August 21 – 25 (Grades 1 - 3)

 

Refund/Cancellation policy:

Registration may be cancelled up to 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the start of camp for a full refund. Cancellations made or requested after 14 days and at least 7 days prior to the start of the camp will be refunded the amount paid minus a $40 administration fee per child. Cancellations made or requested less than 7 days prior to the start of the camp will be refunded 50% of the total cost. The Rooms reserves the right to cancel camps due to insufficient registration. In the event of this, parents of registrants will be notified as soon as possible and receive a full refund.

Activities focus on creative expression through daily themes as campers find inspiration in exhibitions and collections. Outside play and short field trips within walking distance to The Rooms are also part of daily camp activities as weather permits.

REGISTRATION OPENS MARCH 12, 2024 at 10:00 am and will be online only.

2. Purchase that ticket, this is your camp registration fee.

3. After purchasing, please download this REGISTRATION FORM and send the completed form to roomsorders@therooms.ca to complete your registration.

Camp Details:

Camp Schedule:

  • Camp 1: July 8-12 (Ages 5-7 years)*
  • Camp 2: July 15-19 (Ages 8-10 years)
  • Camp 3: July 22-26 (Ages 5-7 years)*
  • Camp 4: July 29 – August 2 (Ages 8-10 years)
  • No Camp Augst 5 - 9
  • Camp 5: August 12-16 (Ages 11-12 years)
  • Camp 6: August 19-23 (Ages 5-7 years)*

Note:  *children must have completed a full year of Kindergarten / suited for children going into grade 1 in September 2024. Camp will go ahead on holiday Mondays.

Art Tea

Art Tea is a contemplative way to experience our exhibitions. Join us for a visit to the art gallery, then exchange ideas and share reflections about current topics in art. This is a casual and relaxed group setting. Tea will be served overlooking the breathtaking view of the harbour.

Tickets: $20 plus HST. 10% discount for members. Seating is limited. Please call (709) 757-8090 to book your spot.

This program visits a different exhibition each month.

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Enjoy performances by local outstanding musicians as they fill The Rooms with music and songs from our province’s rich musical history.  Be prepared to sing along, tap your toes or just sit back and delight in the moment. This is a free, drop in event.

Embark on a vibrant journey together to part through the clouds to view the captivating hues of the rainbow at The Rooms. See a spectrum of colors: from fiery reds to sunny yellows, lush greens to serene blues, and even the elusive indigos and violets.

Offered Fridays 2:30 pm. Included in the cost of admission.
