Film Festival
Come join us as The Nickel Independent Film Festival hosts its second annual Nickel Youth Film Fest at The Rooms! A series of amazing screenings for young people from Kindergarten to high school, with three days of the best local and international films made for and by youth.
In addition to the festival, a special film challenge for children and youth kicks off on November 10, offering young filmmakers an opportunity to create and submit their own short films and have them shown at the festival.
Nickel Youth Film Challenge 2023
New this year — an open invitation to young people across Newfoundland and Labrador to create a short film, just for fun. It’s not a contest, it’s open to any age under 19, and it’s free to participate. Completed films submitted by the deadline will be shown at a special screening at The Rooms and online as part of the final screening at the Nickel Youth Film Fest. The challenge starts at 7pm on November 10 and you will have one week to submit — the deadline is Saturday, November 18 at 7pm. For more details or to sign up, visit www.nickelfestival.com.
Day Passes: $12 General and $6 (Children and Youth). Day passes provide access to all screenings taking place on pass day. Get your passes online or by calling (709)757-8090.
