Douglas Walbourne-Gough and his Cabaret Volterre Neuve Poetry Workshop will be reading from their recent work.

Walbourne-Gough, the acclaimed author of Crow Gulch and the forthcoming Island, has spent the fall at Memorial University as its Writer-in-Residence for 2023, leading a poetry workshop with students and members of the wider St. John’s community.

Now they’ll share the results with you. Join Walbourne-Gough, Renee Boileau, E. C. Daley, Nicole Haldoupis, and Katie Vautour and witness the eclosion of the next generation of Newfoundland poetry.

Feeling festive?  Join us to create your very own mummer ornament. In fact, make two – one to take home, and one to place on a special Mummer Tree at The Rooms. The Mummer ornament tree will be on display over the holidays.

Mummers Festival is pleased to present “The Wholly Untrue Origin of the Ugly Stick.” Written and directed by Audrey Gerow, this short, family friendly play offers a playful twist on the beloved ugly stick.  

Puppet Show times at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 pm in the theatre. Each show is approximately 12 – 15 minutes long.

Suitable for all ages. Included in the cost of admission.

This event is presented in partnership with the 2023 Mummers Festival.
