In partnership with the Department of Education, through funding provided by Cultural Connections, The Rooms invited members of the arts community to explore the vaults and select items from the collections that resonated with them and their creative practice. The resulting videos are a fascinating look into our collections, the creative process and where inspiration comes from.
This week, join us for a conversation with Comedic Actor, Rory Lambert and a screening of the short video that resulted from his collections interactions.
Cost: $12 plus HST. Free for Rooms Members. Get your ticket online or by calling (709) 757-8090.
About the program:
Comedic Actor, Rory Lambert navigates the dark subject matter depicted in David Blackwood’s Sealing Disaster series, connecting Blackwood’s intaglio prints to archival photography and marine artifacts in the collections at The Rooms.
Join us for an engaging and in-depth conversation about the Mummers Play, its rich history, cultural significance, and the lasting impact it has had in Newfoundland and beyond.
Whether you're familiar with the tradition or just curious to learn more, this is sure to be an eye-opening discussion!
