From the rugged barrens of 18th-century St. John’s to the welcoming doors of St. David’s Presbyterian Church, the story of this congregation is one of resilience, faith, and community. Join Dr. Steve Bruneau, PhD, P.Eng., alongside descendants of the founding families, as they trace the congregation’s journey from its founding in 1775 to the present day.
This captivating presentation will explore pivotal moments, such as the earliest gatherings at Fort William, the construction of the Stone Chapel, the catastrophic fires of 1892, and the eventual establishment of St. David’s Church.
With historical maps, archival records, and personal accounts, attendees will gain a deep understanding of the congregation’s legacy and the places that shaped it. You’ll also have the rare chance to view original documents and artifacts in person, bringing this rich history vividly to life
